Hand-painting the carport edges while the back section is already finished (Marbella)

What It Is Like to Work With Us When You Live Abroad

Reviews & best of ·

Working with us from abroad comes down to three things: a clear quote based on your photos, an agreed plan for access and dates, and photo updates so you can see the work without being there. Everything is handled in English by WhatsApp and email, from first message to finished surface.

Send us a photo and the m²

How does the first contact work?

It starts with photos. You, your property manager or a neighbour send pictures of the area, close-ups of any cracks or stains and a rough size in square metres, through the contact form or on WhatsApp at 613 656 443.

We look at them and reply in English with a straightforward view: whether painting is the right answer, what preparation the surface needs and anything that would rule it out. If the photos leave doubts, we arrange a site visit before quoting.

What does the quote cover?

The quote sets out which areas will be painted, the preparation included, the two coats, the colour and anything that is excluded. Cleaning, crack and edge repairs and brush cut-in are part of the standard job.

If something is outside our service, such as relaying sunken paving or work on interior floors, the quote says so plainly. Pricing is explained on our pricing site, and the final figure is in writing.

How are colour and finish chosen when you are not here?

We talk it through by message, using your photos of the house: roof tiles, walls, frames and the pool. We explain how the shades in the product range tend to behave outdoors and how gloss and satin differ.

Some owners ask a neighbour or their manager to look at options on site; others decide from our description and the photos of the house. Our colour and sheen guide is a useful read before that conversation.

How is access arranged?

You tell us who will open the gate and when: you on a visit, a neighbour, a key holder or a property manager. We agree where vehicles will be moved, where furniture and pots should go and which areas must stay accessible.

For communities and gated urbanisations, we follow the access rules of the development, which the manager or the community usually explains in advance.

It helps to send a photo of the gate, the parking area and where the bins are kept. Small details like these avoid calls on the day and make sure nothing blocks the area that is being painted.

What happens on the days of the work?

The sequence is always the same: pressure washing, repairs to cracks, chips and joints, brush cut-in along the edges and two coats of synthetic resin paint. Weather and the product data sheet set the timing, and if conditions are wrong we move the date and tell you why.

Hand-painting the carport edges while the back section is already finished

The photo is from the Marbella villa: the edges of the carport are being painted by hand while the back section is already done. That is the kind of picture we send during a job, so you can see the progress from wherever you are.

How do you see the finished result?

When the job is finished, we send photos of the completed areas. You see the result before your next visit, and if your manager or neighbour is on site, they can check it in person too.

We also explain when the surface can take feet, furniture and cars, according to the data sheet, so whoever is looking after the house knows what to do. Our care guide is worth passing on to your cleaners or rental team.

Does it work for holiday lets?

Yes. For rentals, the dates are fitted between bookings so guests do not arrive to a coated area that cannot be used. Driveways, terraces and paths can be done together or in phases, depending on the gaps in your calendar.

The services that fit this way of working are concrete painting for drives, patio and terrace painting for outdoor living areas and paver painting for block-paved entrances.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be in Spain for the work?

No. You never have to meet us in person. The quote is based on photos, the details are agreed in writing, access is arranged with someone you trust, and you receive photos during and after the work. If you happen to be visiting, you are welcome to see it in person.

Do you communicate in English?

Yes. Messages, quotes and updates are handled in English by WhatsApp and email, so you do not need to speak Spanish. Legal or administrative documents from your ayuntamiento or community may be in Spanish, and your manager or administrator can usually help with those.

Who should open the gate for you?

Anyone you trust: a neighbour, a key holder, a property manager or a cleaner. We agree the arrangement in advance, including which areas we need access to and where vehicles and furniture should be moved. For gated developments, we follow the urbanisation's rules.

How do I see the work while I am abroad?

We send photos while the job is under way and when it is finished. You can see the cleaning, the repairs, the edges and the finished colour. If you want a particular detail photographed, just ask by message. The photos stay on your phone as a record.

How do I choose a colour remotely?

Send photos of the house, roof and garden, and we discuss suitable shades and how they behave outdoors. If someone can look at options on site for you, that helps. Our colour guide explains the main points to think about.

What if it rains on the planned date?

Paint needs suitable weather and a dry surface, as the product data sheet specifies. If rain or unsuitable conditions are forecast, we move the date and tell you by message. It is better to wait than to compromise the finish.

Can my property manager deal with you directly?

Yes, as long as you confirm that they are acting for you. Some owners prefer their manager to handle access and on-site checks while they approve the quote and colour themselves. We keep both of you informed if you wish.

How do you schedule around rental guests?

Tell us the gaps in your booking calendar and the areas to be painted. We plan the job so coated areas have time to dry and cure as the data sheet requires before guests arrive. Large areas can be split into phases if needed.

Do I need a permit, and who arranges it?

It depends on the town and the zone. In Málaga city, coating exterior slabs is listed as a minor work usually handled by declaración responsable; elsewhere the requirement is to be verified. The owner should confirm with the ayuntamiento, and your manager or administrator can often help.

How do I start?

Send photos of the area, close-ups of any cracks, stains or old paint, the approximate square metres and the location. Use the contact form or WhatsApp at 613 656 443. We reply in English with an assessment and, if painting is suitable, a written quote.
